"So live like you mean it, Love 'til you feel it, It's all that we need in our lives, So stand on the edge with me, Hold back your fear and see, Nothing is real 'til it's gone." X
CHASE is one of the few younger people he knows, but she's not particularly young to Takeshi: she's smart and strong and kind, and while she doesn't always speak like Miss Reika would, she's reassuring company. Something about her is wise and much more than he's capable of at his age, and he recognizes this. In fact, he's glad she's one of his friends, with how much she seems to understand (and yet, like him, not get at all). He thinks maybe he won't be quite so lonely if he has people like her to keep him occupied—and maybe he can do the same for her.
Let's be alone together.
Chase's death has caused a terrible ache in Takeshi's heart that hasn't healed yet—and now, thanks to that pain, he's applied himself even more to trying to keep his friends safe. Much to their dislike. He can't just sit back and watch them all die, not like home, not anymore. If he can stop it, he wants to.
He wants you all to live. Being alone hurts too much.
He visits her grave often; he hopes she's okay with him sleeping under the tree. To... keep her company.
