"Will it ever make sense? Somebody's gotta know, There's gotta be more to life than this, There's got to be more to everything I thought exists. We are, we are... the youth of the nation." X
KAZAMA is one of the first people to ever approach him here in space, and for that, Takeshi has garnered a little trust in him. It's possible with the mask fiasco, that trust will be temporarily jolted and turned on its head, but the fact remains: despite Kazama's demeanor, silence, and his more than often stoic expression, he's been there for Takeshi (even if he seems to not really know how to 'help' in many ways). There are pieces to their stories that are eerily similar in some respects—being forced into battle, some 'game' to benefit others, being changed in some ways and numbed to things no one should ever be numbed to. But what really matters is the fact that, should things travel down a dark and winding road at home, he could very easily grow up to be like him.
And despite their hiccups, Takeshi has ultimately come to care genuinely, openly, honestly—when Kazama was shot, he could only think about how he'd lost someone not long beforehand, could only think that Kazama would have easily joined her then and there and he'd never see him again. It scares him. And inevitably, Kazama makes him want to do what so many in his world never succeeds in:
Protect.
No more pain. He doesn't like this. He wants everyone to be alive, healthy, happy.
... So please don't turn him away, Kazama. Don't make it sound like you're not important. Because Takeshi knows what it feels like, to not be important. To be the kid with the bruises or tears that people look the other way for. Takeshi knows how much it hurts, but he also knows how hard it is to reach out for help.
KAZAMA

You're worth more than you think.
